Flood
Hey everyone, so it has definitely been a while since I last posted anything on the site! Things have been crazy busy on this end and one of my resolutions this year is to have something up every week. So here goes nothin. This is a post that I wrote a few weeks back so expect another post up later this week!
If you have taken a look through the site, you will have noticed that through all of our projects and all of the listings that we have had, as a buyer or seller, have been all smooth sailing. We ran into our first issue the other week.
I have been talking up the house at 2754 Barfield to everybody in the office. Oh man this is going to be such a cool project. Well, I finally was able to bring my mentor and fellow agent/broker Brandon Faber to the house to see the progress we had made. Showing Brandon around and everything is going great..and then I walk into the dining room/kitchen. Why are my carpets all soggy? Why is there standing water on the kitchen floor? We start to frantically look around for the culprit. It ends up being the ice maker water line has broken and has been shooting water into the house for three days.
Frantic calls are now being made trying to get my plumber (Tim Vanderkolk for Vanderkolk Plumbing did such an awesome job and I definitely owe him lunch or something) out there to help fix the issue and to fix any of the other plumbing issues that had shown themselves after the pipe burst.
The next calls are to insurance and to the restoration company, Rainbow International. The Rainbow guys were there until midnight helping me fix the issue and get everything taken care of. I could not be more thankful for their help the next three days.
Turns out that there is thousands of dollars of damage, and if I hadn't discovered it when I did...it would have just been a whole lot worse. Everything is fine now and we start the renovation and remodel within the next two weeks so stay tuned to see progress on the project! Pictures are included at the bottom!
The pictures show the kitchen before and after as well as the basement before and after!
