Curveballs
So the first week of having this blog up was a success. It actually generated more traffic than I ever could have possibly hoped. The very first day generated nearly 150 different visits to the site. I was really only expecting a few so that was a nice surprise! Over the week, with no new posts yet, traffic has dwindled down to a few visits here and there. That is totally fine and I will work on trying to get a few posts up a week. I never realized how hard putting something new up would be, but I will make an effort every day to start some new topic. Maybe interactive posts? Who knows. So this personal post is about the way life can throw curveballs at you. At JH Realty, we have a service that we pay for that helps to generate leads for agents. When you register at this site you are assigned a lender and a Realtor. From that point on, the agent and lender can see every property that you look at, how many times you view a certain property, and your login history. I generate three or four leads a week through this service. I generally email to start out to explain who I am and then follow up with a call and email later in the week. I have had a few breakthroughs with communications so far. Now after bringing a client through multiple places, we decided to put in an offer on a place for it to be accepted almost immediately. Here is the curveball that I absolutely struck out on...the call the next morning saying that we would be backing out of the deal. I am sure that this will not be the case every time, but boy was it a good learning experience. Learning to figure out which buyers are actually serious buyers is the next thing on my list. Hope everyone has a great week. I will try to have two new posts up on Sundays. One on the main home page and one on the market trends page.
